Med Spa Software Feature Comparison: Memberships, AI, Booking & Loyalty

A feature-by-feature table for seven med spa platforms, built only from what each company publishes, plus what a good and a bad version of each feature looks like.

By Karena Zolner

Disclosure: I'm building Software by Jade, practice software for med spas and spas, so I have a stake in this category. This table uses only what each company publishes about itself, checked on October 14, 2026. Software by Jade isn't launched, so it isn't in the table. For the full context, including how I'd evaluate any platform, read my med spa software buyer's guide.

If you're comparing med spa software, you probably have a short list of features you can't live without. This page answers one question for each of them: which platforms say, on their own websites, that they have it built in?

How to read the table: "Yes" means the company states it on a public page I checked on October 14, 2026. "Not found" means I didn't find it on public pages; it doesn't mean the platform can't do it. Features change often, so confirm in a demo.

¹ Nextech lists package tracking and inventory by SKU and lot on its practice management page, which isn't specific to med spas (checked October 14, 2026).
² Mindbody's help center appears to describe a client rewards program, but those pages didn't load for us when we checked on October 14, 2026, so it's left as "Not found."
³ Nextech's med spa page lists appointment scheduling; online booking wording appeared only in a PDF we didn't use (checked October 14, 2026).

Sources for every cell are listed at the bottom of this page and in the buyer's guide.

What each feature should do, and what a weak version looks like

Memberships and packages

Why it matters: recurring revenue keeps the lights on in slow months, and packages lock in a course of treatment. A weak version bills the card but doesn't track what the member has used, so the front desk keeps a spreadsheet on the side and discounts get applied by memory. Before you build tiers in any system, check your membership math.

Loyalty and rewards

Why it matters: rewards can bring clients back between treatment cycles. A weak version gives discounts on everything, including your lowest-margin services, and nobody tracks what the program costs you.

Online booking

Why it matters: clients book when you're closed, and every booking the front desk doesn't take by phone is time back. A weak version lets clients book a service with a provider who isn't licensed to perform it, or in a room without the device it needs.

Consultation and intake forms

Why it matters: forms completed before the visit mean the appointment starts on time and the provider knows about contraindications first. A weak version stores answers as a PDF that isn't connected to the client record or the visit.

Treatment plans

Why it matters: a plan turns a single visit into a course of care, and makes the next booking natural. A weak version is a note in free text that the next provider never sees.

Staff targets

Why it matters: clear targets for rebooking, retail and utilization help providers see how they're doing. A weak version shows revenue only, which rewards upselling over client outcomes.

AI

Why it matters: AI can take some of the load off the front desk and the charting. A weak version is a feature you pay extra for that nobody on your team uses, or one that handles client health information without clear answers about where the data goes. Ask what the AI does, what it costs, whether it's covered by your BAA, and who reviews its output before it lands in a chart.

Lead management

Why it matters: consultation requests from your website, ads and phone calls need follow-up within hours, not days. A weak version sends leads to an inbox no one owns.

Compliance tooling

Why it matters: individual logins, access by role, an activity log, consent on the visit record, lot and expiration tracking, and a signed BAA are the basics for a medical practice. A weak version treats any of these as an add-on you find out about after you sign. If your spa is a HIPAA covered entity, a written agreement with any vendor that handles patient information on your behalf is required (HHS). More in med spa EMR software.

The features I'd never run a med spa without: inventory that can handle real med spa complexity, commission structures that work across multiple providers, charts that reconcile with billing, and automated client lifecycle marketing.
